Here are some of my favorite places for Indian food you can try next time!
1) Aunty Manju’s Home of Banana Leaf
This is one of the most happening Indian cuisine I have been – it is definitely the Home of Banana Leaf Aunty Manju’s!! When we reached there, we waited for about 5 minutes before seated. The food was so good, and it was my best Friday lunch ever!!
Here’s how a typical banana leaf meal will be served. First, they will place a clean sheet of banana leaf in front of you, then they will start to scoop and pour the side dishes for you, i.e. cucumbers, tofu, some vege, and potato. Next, the rice – indicate how much you want or they will keep scooping..haha..
You can keep topping up your rice, papadum (the yellow chips), curries, and side dishes for free. If you wana top up the chicken or calamari, then you have to pay extra lar.. XD
After all these yummy banana leaf rice, you can either order rasum or sago drink (can’t remember what they call it) as dessert, or Bru Coffee or Masala Tea (spiced milk tea).

2) Ghandi’s Vegetarian Restaurant
One of my favorite places for my vegetarian days, and they serve a variety of dishes to choose from. Their best dish is definitely the buttery-fried-mushroom which almost finished every time I got there. Yum yum..

3) SSS Bawah Pokok
This is definitely the No.1 place for me, but this is not 100% vegetarian, they do serve non-vege options. LOL! But one thing I need to highlight here is their fried-cauliflower, so ‘Awe-gas-some’…mmm..
For this plate with chicken, egg, green vege, fried-cauliflower, and a limau ais (chilled lime juice) is only RM12!!! (~3 US Dollar)

4) Tandoor Grill, Ipoh
For a nice Northern Indian cuisine in Ipoh, you must absolutely come to Tandoor Grill! The food and the ambiance is just fantastic. Me and my family will come here for dinner when we crave for yummy curry gravy and Briyani Rice!
They even have Paneer dishes (cheese), one of them that I have tried was Spinach Paneer (Cheese spinach) which is quite good. A decent dinner for 5 of us would cost about RM120++, which I think is reasonable lar.

This place is another discovery of awesome and authentic northern Indian cuisine. They have a variety of choices from bread, pratta, naan, briyani rice, and super nice dessert.
The one here on the left is butter chicken curry with naan..very very recommended. 🙂
